I am bone tired...I feel chilled and shaken by the past 10 days and I am actually wondering if maintaining a blog is even worth the trouble.
When I was rah-rahing everyone's books and cheering all my pals on, I got a lot of hits on my blog. But I have noticed that maybe only a couple...or three or four come by anymore unless I go out to the loops and spam everyone. And you all know how I feel about spamming folks.
All my energy reserves have sort of gone into the toilet lately. I need a bit of rah-rahing, and I do appreciate those of you who have dropped by to leave me comments.
Thanks, and if you don't hear from me much, it isn't because I don't love you all...it's just because I am plain worn out.
Hugs...
Fran
Fran, I get it. There's simply too much to do...so, I'm learning to schedule myself better and I'm definitely work in process/progress *smile*
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Fran. It's okay to step back...when you dive into it again, you'll be all charged up and raring to go...like you always are.
Writers are 24/7...it's tough to shut it off, but everyone needs a reboot...a minute to recharge and sometimes it takes shutting down the laptop for a couple of days. Seriously.
I'm a lurker on your group...I'm your friend at SheWrites...on know how hard you're working.
P.S. I'm not a stalker, however...too busy for that (LOL)
I have been in the dumps for too long. I need to fish my fanny back out and get revved again. Thanks for reminding me that I can take a break and not feel guilty! :)
DeleteEveryone will understand that you need some "me" time to recoup some strength and stamina for just day to day things. So you don't blog everyday, so what? Your true friends will understand and be there for you no matter what. Sit in a nice hot bath tub and soak for a while and relax. Take some time for Fran. :)
ReplyDeleteThe best "me" time is hearing from friends and readers. I love knowing that people are out there and so I keep slogging along. LOL!
DeleteHugs, Fran. I hope you feel better soon. I know how you feel about the blogging. I only have a few who drop by when I blog and even when I host people, which is often.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if blogging is worth it any longer. I know I've grown tired of blogging for myself. :)
Love ya sweetie.
I am beginning to think that we have to let others know we are blogging, the more I consider it. I always drop into a blog when I see it on my loops. Sigh. I don't even bother to let people know I have posted on my blog. So I guess I will have to at least let folks know. I know I can always count on you, sweetie. You are always there to comment. Thanks again.
DeleteLadies, just remember one of the main reasons we blog is to interact with our readers. I completely agree it can be exhausting and seem as if there is little reward, but you never know when a new reader will google your name so they can learn more about you. I don't pressure myself to blog daily, but have set a schedule of two specific days I blog just for some type of routine.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel pressured Fran. Taking time off is certainly okay.
That's true, Missy, but my reader base is small, and the only ones who seem to comment on my blog are other authors and friends I've made in the industry. I love my readers (all ten of them!) :)
DeleteI understand totally. Unless, I'm on a blog hop, I have the same two people who comment on my blog. Not to say I don't love Amber and Linda to death but how many times can they listen to me without saying "Enough already"! Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warm thoughts. And Amer is one of the ones I always count on to come over and read. Hugs!
